Bus Tools DGE is pleased to offer a number of tools for working with and testing vehicle communications buses. |
Baby-LIN
The Baby-LIN can also function in standalone mode running stored command sequences. The Baby-LIN unit utilizes a 32-bit microcontroller to handle all time critical tasks including message scheduling and LIN-bus protocol decoding. The Baby-LIN is bundled with the LINWorks software suite, which includes several applications. An included DLL allows user program control via the DLL-API. This API is easy to use and provides LIN transmit and receive functions. The Baby-LIN's LIN-bus voltage range is 9-36 Volts. The LIN-bus is electrically isolated from the USB-side, eliminating interference between the PC and the vehicle electronics. Flash-based firmware storage allows easy updates to accommodate changes to the LIN-bus specification. For more information, check out the Baby-LIN data sheet.
CAN-Spy
While CAN-Spy can transmit and display CAN messages, its real time-saving characteristic is its ability to scale and display the recorded data in engineering units with text names. Tedious manual scaling and conversions are things of the past. The tool can be used in a standalone mode or can be configured using a PC via a RS-232 connection with optional software. CAN-Spy messages are capable of linking to real-world analog and digital I/O via a DB-25 connector for real-time stimulus and measurement. For more information, check out the CAN-Spy data sheet. Download a PDF of the manual by clicking here. Additonal software is available for configuring the CAN-Spy. Please contact us for more details.
CAN High Speed to Low Speed Adapter This simple adapter allows the CAN-Spy tool to be used in low speed fault tolerant CAN systems. The adapter enables the transmission and reception of fault tolerant CAN messages with CAN-Spy, which is designed for High Speed CAN communications. The small external adapter simply plugs into the DB-9 CAN connector on the top of the CAN-Spy tool. The low speed bus is then connected to the open end of the adapter and the baudrate adjusted on the tool. This CAN high speed to low speed adapter may be used for other applications as well. For more information, check out the IF-CAN-BC data sheet.
Bluetooth Diagnostic Tool
The BDT utilizes an iPAQ™ PDA in a rugged case with an external Bluetooth compact flash (CF) card and serial CAN/J1850 bus interface module (SJC) with appropriate interface cables. The BDT simplifies the process of debugging an HFM system with an easy to learn and use PDA touch screen system. Detailed message displays and diagnostic session logging enables the user to quickly determine and document HFM system faults. View our Bluetooth Diag Tool data sheet for more information.

The Baby-LIN®
is a PC to LIN-bus interface. It provides communications with and control
of devices on a LIN network via the USB port on the PC.
CAN-Spy® is a compact and
easy-to-use CAN-bus diagnostic and simulation tool that dramatically speeds up
and simplifies the engineering process. Whether you are troubleshooting a
CAN-bus-related problem or developing a new module for a CAN bus, CAN-Spy can
prove invaluable.

This popular communication bus tester allows engineers to
conveniently view and log J1850 bus traffic. Built around a Palm PDA, the
Mini Flight Recorder (MFR) is small, lightweight, and easy to use. View
