DGE has been designing and implementing automotive gateways for nearly 10 years.  Our gateways have been incorporated in dozens of development platforms as well as numerous high volume production modules.  A DGE gateway enables faster vehicle development by allowing newer ECUs with higher speed networking protocols to be integrated into vehicles running legacy or lower cost protocols.

Gateway 3 Development Platform

DGE's Gateway 3 is the perfect solution for vehicles with hybrid CAN / J1850 network systems as well as systems with multiple (and different types of) CAN networks.   

The Gateway 3 provides messages translation across differing vehicle networks, such as CAN/GMLAN to J1850/GM Class2 and vice versa.  The Gateway 3 incorporates up to four CAN channels and a J1850 VPW channel.  A LIN channel can also be added.

In addition to message translation, the Gateway 3 can also transmit messages based upon switch or sensor I/O and control I/O (relay drivers, LEDs, etc.) based upon message receipt.

The Gateway 3 is configurable to support High-Speed CAN (GMLAN), Single-Wire CAN (GMLAN), Low-Speed Fault Tolerant CAN, J1850 VPW / GM Class2, and LIN protocols.     

DGE will develop customized Gateway 3 software to meet customer requirements for specific applications.  Software updates can be loaded via the GW3 RS-232 serial port and HyperTerminal on a PC. View our Gateway 3 data sheet for more information.
