Testers and Simulators

DGE creates tools that are “smart,” robust, programmable, expandable, and designed to meet the needs of both software/hardware developers and test technicians.  Our extensive experience and system knowledge allow us to design instruments that are easy-to-use, accurate, and reliable.  We employ industry standard buses, operating systems, and, in many cases, circuit board assemblies, which allows shorter lead-times and makes the software and hardware easy to maintain and enhance.

High Speed Data Acquisition System

Our DAS utilizes a PXI rack architecture and Labview/Windows GUI.  It features custom signal conditioning to match customer applications provided through a small plug in circuit board.

It may be used as an EMC tester, bench top simulator, or functional tester.

User inputs for expected values and tolerances are made in a simple Excel spreadsheet.

The DAS features include:

  • 192 digital I/O
  • 16 analog I/O
  • Arbitrary waveform generator
  • 2 CAN ports
  • Ethernet
  • Timing signal display

The DAS is capable of generating and capturing high speed digital signals, including frequency, pulse width, and duty cycle.  The system will create data log files consisting of expected values, baseline values, actual test values, tolerances and failure status in a standard csv format.

Vehicle Drive Simulator

Our Vehicle Drive Simulator is a PXI-based rack system which simulates all of the external I/O to a telematics ECU.  For more info, see Telematics.

Simple Benchtop Tester

Our benchtop tester was designed to validate basic operation of a telematics ECU in a static environment.  The benchtop tester provides power, audio, and communications interfaces (CAN and serial).  It contains loads, breakouts, and controls for fault insertion.  For more info, see Telematics.

Electronic Module Tester

The Electronic Module Tester (EMT) is a flexible pin-by-pin ECU functional tester.  The EMT is designed to test a wide array of automotive modules and provides all the necessary analog, digital and power inputs, outputs, loads, and communication channels required to test electronic modules. View our datasheet for more information.

Transmission Simulator

Our Transmission Simulator provides all necessary inputs, outputs, and actual loads to test transmission controller hardware and software in a real time environment.  Its graphical user interface (GUI) gives the user control over all transmission functions and parameters.  The system can be operated with the PC or in stand-alone mode. View our datasheet for more information.

Mark I Engine Simulator

The Mark I is an intelligent engine simulator with an easy-to-use graphical user interface.  The Mark I supplies all the necessary inputs and outputs to allow an Electronic Control Unit to operate without a vehicle.  The Mark I also allows for real time data acquisition and measurement.  View our and measurement.  View our Mark I Datasheet for more information.
